Where will my maternity session take place?

Your maternity session can take place in your place or outside in one of the lovely parks we have around London. Some of my favorite locations are Hampstead Heath Pergola and Hill Garden, Golders Hill Park, Kew Gardens, Richmond Park, and Gunnersbury Park, Notting Hill. We can also hire a studio for your maternity session.

What do I need to prepare for my maternity session?

I have a wide range of beautiful dresses to choose from, but you can always bring your own clothes. I love to incorporate a meaningful element too so please bring your scan photo, a sentimental teddy (perhaps in traditional blue or pink for your baby), or some cute little shoes to add a really personal element to your session.

What should I wear for my maternity session?

Remember, timeless is best. Personally, I love maxi dresses for maternity pictures. Floor or knee-length maxi dresses with chunky necklaces are incredibly flattering on a pregnant body. Moreover, prepare a few outfits to wear for your maternity shoots, such as a casual outfit, a dressy outfit, a set of lingerie, a fitted dress, and a flowy one.

Since the main focus in your maternity shoot is your bump, then don’t let anything take attention away form that, like a pattern or print. Wear solid colors for your bump to stand out the most. If you want to incorporate pattern into your shoot, have your husband wear a patterned shirt instead. If you feel solid colors are too boring, then bring in some fun, bright, and bold accessories like necklaces and scarves.

How much skin in ``on show``?

This is entirely up to you. Personally, I think it’s lovely to show your bump off if you feel comfortable with it. I can offer delicate editing of anything you aren’t happy with. If you wish to celebrate your pregnant body and show off even more that is also fine. We can discuss this before your session and on the day too depending on how brave you will feel.

Should I be concerned about stretch marks and the extra weight I’ve gained?

I understand that you may be concerned about stretch marks and feel a little bigger all over, so removing any blemishes, including stretch marks and slimming you down a little in areas where needed through flattering poses, camera angle and expert retouching skills are all complimentary as part of your session. Just let me know what your concern is and I’ll take care of it for you.

Can my partner and older children be included in some pictures?

Yes! I love involving siblings and partners in the photos! Expecting a new baby is a very exciting and special time for the whole family.
